This is a bit of an epic. Si came into rehearsal with an idea which we jammed, and that grew into the first half. The second section I (Ed) came up with, originally thinking about Ed Rush & Optical's tune 'Capsule' and the minor chord sample rhythm. It grew into a beast! We'd play this last at gigs for a long time, because it cranked so much. Lisa Tomlins did an awesome job at making it even more epic. When we recorded it it was hard to get the natural build that we got at gigs. To get around that we just decided to call it when it was ready, and I'm really happy with how the build turned out! Si recorded his guitar so loud (to drive the tubes) you could hear it streets away. Wicked tone.

Stunning, ragged-edged funk and soul—if you didn’t know this was new, it could be easily mistaken for a rarities comp from the late ’60s. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 20, 2017

This was the first album I ever listened to as a teenager, and it remains as impressive as I remember it being. I really can't recommend it enough, especially if you're into experimental spacey jazzy hip hop. asherarataki
